Do you want hardwood flooring installed for your home?
Then you need to get familiar about the level of floor maintenance needed and the styling options available for hardwood floors.
Before you make a final decision whether to install hardwood floors in your home, you need to ask yourself this question:
Where in your home will hard wood floor installations take place?
Can hardwood floors be installed anywhere in a home?
The answer: Hardwood flooring can be installed on any grade for a residential property.
For basements or any below grade you should have engineered wood floors installed.
Engineered wood floors are composed of plywood layers and a top layer of authentic wood.
Engineered wood floors should be used anytime you need more stability than natural wood floors can provide.
As for putting hard wood floors into bathroom settings, we do not recommend that option. Instead go for laminate flooring. You can always have a wood pattern for your laminate flooring. It will look just as great as hardwood flooring.
Remember anytime solid hardwood floors are used in a home, the wood flooring will naturally expand and contract.
Have your hardwood floor regularly inspected for cupping and buckling to maintain aesthetics for your home interior designs.
As for high foot traffic in the home, never put hardwood flooring in high traffic areas of your home unless there’s an area rug on top of the hardwood flooring.
Wood flooring is very vulnerable to premature wear and tear, especially in homes where women wear high heel shoes. High heels can create major indentions in wood surfaces.
Hardwood flooring can be pre-finished for the plank edge styles.
Pre-finished hardwood flooring will need refinishing over the years. Wood refinishing usually takes 3 days to complete.
Pre-finished hardwood flooring is refinished by sanding off a layer of the wood floor. Don’t worry staining will not come off pre-finished hardwood flooring when refinishing is performed.
